There are so many things to think about when moving! Here's a comprehensive checklist to help you stay on track.PACKING EXTRADORDINARY/HIGH VALUE ITEMS
If you include “Extraordinary/High Value” item(s) in your shipment you must do the following:
- 1. Advise moving company in writing that they are in your shipment.
- 2. Complete and sign an “Extraordinary/High Value Inventory” sheet (provided by the moving company you selected to complete your move) prior to your move.
- 3. You must declare the total amount of released value for your goods.
These items having a value greater than $100.00 per pound per article.

- Precious Stones or Gems
- Precious Metals
- Art Collections
- Currency
- Silver and Silverware
- Figurines
- Video Cameras
- Computer & Software
- Furs
- Coin Collections
- Oriental Rugs
If you fail to list all “Extraordinary/High Value Inventory” sheet and/or fail to sign, the moving company liability for loss or damage to those items will be limited to no more than $100.00 per pound per article, based actual weight of the article (does not apply to shipments under the “basic carrier liability)”.
Declaring total amount of released value of goods; this total should state the value of item(s), including all items of “Extraordinary” value. Record the total value on the “Bill of Lading”.
